Game Day In Alabama, Part 2: The Million Dollar Band is Awesome!

For several months now, Jack has declared "Yea, Alabama" to be his favorite song. He knows all the words and will sing it at random or on command. He loves listening to the Million Dollar Band in the car (which makes his Former Drum Major Momma smile) and is just so stinkin' cute singing along. I knew that he would be completely awed when he got to see the band play live. I now think that "awed" may have been the understatement of the century, as you can see from these photos.

I took these shots of Jack on the quad. He was watching and listening to the band just before they lined up to march in to the stadium. They stand on the steps of the library (with Big Al, too) and play through their repertoire which includes, of course, "Yea, Alabama". Jack danced, clapped and sang right along. And for those of you who are unfamiliar with the song, here are the (quite complicated, if I do say so myself) lyrics:
